Corzine Fine Art Gallery seeks a highly motivated and detail oriented individual to fill the position of Director.
The Director’s responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
Sales:
The director will be responsible for the development of sales campaigns for artists alongside gallery staff.
External representation of the gallery by means of attending institutional and other gallery openings and events is necessary.
To cultivate and maintain constant contact with collectors, curators, institutions and press, updating them on gallery related activities as well as new works by gallery artists.
Work in tandem with museums, collectors and advisors on acquisitions.
Facilitate the traveling of institutional exhibitions by gallery artists.
Willingness to travel to art fairs on behalf of the gallery if necessary.
Exhibitions & Programming:
Coordinate gallery exhibitions, which includes, but is not limited to, coordinating logistics, acting as liaison between the artist (or artist’s studio) and the gallery. Maintain a constant dialogue with the gallery artists about new work, upcoming museum exhibitions, and any sales activities with other galleries. Develop idea for program artists and exhibitions with gallery staff.
Administration:
Coordinate and oversee all shipping to and from the gallery.
Administer all invoices, wire transfers, and statements.
Work closely with the Registrar to maintain the gallery inventory.
Oversee the gallery staff and day to day activities.
A qualified candidate should have a degree in Art History or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years gallery experience, demonstrated writing skills, Mac proficiency and be fluent in Microsoft Office suite.
She or he should be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Knowledge of the California and Los Angeles art scene in particular is a plus.
